MY TOP CLIMB

by Jessica

Winner of the Church Competition.

Through the arch door,
A secret passage I found.
I crept up the stairs,
They went round and round.
A torchlight shone upon the stony ground.
Dark and creepy, silent and still.
Will I go on? Yes I will.

I had a rest and there they were,
Big and brown, not making their sound.
Up I went, high above the ground.
That's where I saw, this tiny door.
I squeezed in through, it took all my power,
Because finally, I'd reached,
The top of the church tower.

Thanks Jessica - a splendid effort!!
